International Justice Mission (IJM) is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. IJM lawyers, investigators and aftercare professionals work with local governments in Asia, Africa and Latin America to ensure victim rescue, prosecute perpetrators and strengthen the community and civic factors that promote functioning public justice systems.

Preemptive Love

Preemptive Love lives by the motto, “Violence unmakes the world. Preemptive Love unmakes violence.” Its specific focus is on helping families in Iraq and Syria rebuild their lives after the ravages of war. Self-described as “a coalition stretching across Iraq, Syria, the United States and beyond,” it meets affected families where they are and provides support to get them back to where they need to be, such as:

• Emergency food, water and medical care for innocents caught on the frontlines

• Open minds and willing ears to hear what each individual family and community needs to rebuild their homes and societies

• Job opportunities within Iraq and Syria so that people can move from surviving to thriving.
